2018 Photography Rates
Categories of Plans
2018 Photography rates fall into three categories of portrait and headshot plans – the CPPP, the Fine Art Portrait Plan, and the Mini Session.
The Consolidated Portrait Pricing Plan (CPPP)
The Consolidated Portrait Pricing Plan (CPPP) ($250/$175/$100B} is a great value and available to anyone – individual clients, and corporations. (i.e., any non-group photography). It is even a good option for models and actors seeking headshots from professional photographers and want digitals, i.e., who do not need comp cards / physical deliverables to give to agencies. The CPPP plan is a great value and a fun experience, because it provides up to a two hour photoshoot and allows for multiple looks and backgrounds. The CPPP session is tethered. We create a half dozen images and then review them. Then we shoot the next set, based on what we decided to modify. Over the two hour session, images are honed, and clients end up with a many great images and different looks to choose from. Images for retouching are selected the same day as the shoot, and payment is required in full. Clients can order only one image or order more that same day at a discount when ordered the same day as the photoshoot. All images are retouched (up to two hours of retouching is included) and delivered digitally at janicednelson.com (the client login page). Each image comes with a set of digitals that are licensed for specific use – for pro print houses, for corporate websites, for social media, and for LinkedIn. The CPPP is the most popular plan because it is such a great value and offers much flexibility for clients.
The first retouched image from the session is $250. Additional retouched images from the session are available for $175 each. There is a $100 booking fee due a minimum of two days in advance that applies to the total amount due the day of the shoot. It is deducted from the total amount due the day of the shoot in most circumstances. However, if clients booking a CPPP need to reschedule a session or decide to cancel a session, they must provide a minimum of 48 hour notice (business hours M-F) or the booking fee becomes non-refundable.
The Fine Art Portrait Plan
The Fine Art Portrait Plan ($699/$250B). This plan is available to all, no restrictions. It is similar to the CPPP except there is up to eight hours of retouching included and the photo shoot session time is not limited to two hours. The photoshoot can run a full day, if the client desires. It is well suited for those looking for a formal, fine art portrait. (The FAPP requires a great deal of advanced preparation and planning on wardrobe and more.)
A Fine Art Portrait is available for $699 with digital delivery at janicednelson.com. There is a $250 booking fee due in advance that applies to the total amount due the day of the shoot. It is deducted from the total amount due the day of the shoot in most circumstances. However, if clients booking a FAPP need to reschedule a session or cancel, they must provide a minimum of 1 week notice or the booking fee becomes non-refundable.
The Mini Session
Mini Photoshoots ($150/$175) are in-studio or on-location and only available to corporate groups with 12 or more people needing headshots or portraits. Images are discounted when companies send individuals to the Lombard studio. Images are not retouched. (Retouching can be added off the a la carte menu.) If an on-location shoot is desired, additional costs such as travel, setup, assistants, etc., are incurred. Typically on-location shoots are much more expensive than in-studio mini sessions.
Mini Session Rates
Mini sessions start at $150 in-studio with no retouching and $175 with 15 minutes of retouching.
On-location Group Rates
Written estimates are provided for on-location group photo shoots. Booking fees are a percentage of the total amount due the day of the photoshoot.
